Raghupathi (Siddarth) is a fresh pass out engineer who comes to be with his father Govindaraju (Kitti) and there he chances upon Madhumita (Tamannah) the bubbly and innocent girl who is the daughter of the Chief engineer. Soon, he falls for her and in no time, his alliance is fixed with Madhu by her parents. However, when Raghu goes for a job and comes back on holiday, he discovers that Madhu’s parents have fixed her marriage with Radhakrishna (Rishi) who comes from the US. Feeling betrayed, Raghu tries to commit suicide but is saved. He decides to put his past behind and go to the US to pursue his education. He goes to New York and there he meets the beautiful Rathna (Rukmini). There, Raghu bumps across Madhu again and meanwhile, Rathna begins to fall in love with Siddharth. Time passes by and finally the day comes when Rathna and Siddarth are planning to get engaged but then Madhu discovers a truth about Radhakrishna and she makes a decision. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
